Experience the architectural jewel of Palermo's Villa della Favorita gardens

Casina Cinese

The Casina Cinese (Chinese Pavilion) is an architectural jewel nestled in the gardens of the Villa della Favorita in Palermo, Sicily. Built in the late 18th century, this extraordinary structure represents a unique blend of Chinese and European architectural styles.

History

Commissioned by King Ferdinand III of Sicily and designed by architect Venanzio Marvuglia, the Casina Cinese was completed in 1802. It served as a summer residence and entertainment venue for the royal family, showcasing the period’s fascination with Oriental aesthetics.
